Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or other detail typed into one of the search boxes on this site goes to the outside company that runs that tool. The provider processes the query and returns whatever it returns. We keep no record of those search terms on our side.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us is kept so that we can write back. Those messages stay with our own team. We do not hand them to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Technical details arrive whenever a page here loads. Those details are ordinary web-server information rather than anything a visitor types:
- Which pages were opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The browser and browser version in use
- Device type and operating system
- The IP address assigned to the device
- Timestamps attached to each page view
- The referring site, when a visitor arrived from a link
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies are stored on a visitor's device, and they show which pages attract traffic and where readers leave. Analytics services turn that activity into aggregate numbers. A browser can be set to refuse cookies at any time, though some parts of the site may behave differently afterward.
What We Do With This Data
- Pass search requests along to the partner service that handles them
- Keep the site online and loading quickly
- Identify pages that help readers and pages that need work
- Find and fix technical problems
- Serve advertising that may relate to a visitor's interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What we publish is general guidance about where Grant County warrant information is kept and how to reach it, covering the Grant County Sheriff's Office, the District Court that issues the orders, and the state systems that hold court records.
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing gathered from visitors is assembled into a consumer report or into a file about a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on these pages belong to outside companies. Whatever is entered into one of those tools is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide their own retention and sharing practices, and we have no control over them. It is worth reading the partner's policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links out to sheriff's office pages, Minnesota court resources, state statutes, city websites, and outside search tools. Following any of those links leaves this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies. Read it before sharing personal details there.
Advertising partners may also track activity across sites in order to show targeted ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold here. Some information may reach the following:
- Ad networks that place advertising on these pages
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that handle queries submitted on this site
- Government or law enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security practices are used to protect what is collected. No internet-connected service can promise perfect safety, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur. We take reasonable steps and correct problems when they appear.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information to us, contact us and it will be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Minnesota law, including the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (Minn. Stat. ch. 13), may give readers in this state additional rights over information about them, and visitors elsewhere may have similar rights under their own state's law. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask what information we hold about you, and request a copy
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Ask to be excluded from certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date, and that date marks when the new terms begin.
Effective date: September 15, 2026
